How It Works

GuardChecker uses smartphone apps and web-based software to record and report all of a security guard’s actions and observations.

GuardChecker is based on Oversight Inc’s Mobile Worker Connection™ software package.

  • The cloud based software sets up all the security guards, the checkpoints, and the customized observations. It also converts the collected raw data into a digital record that produces alerts and management reports, such as a digital Daily Activity Report.
  • The Data Collection App is installed on the security guard’s smartphone and records all of their actions and observations.
  • The information is real time and is readily accessible and searchable by authorized managers, anytime, anywhere.

Data collection is easy and intuitive.

  • Checkpoints and ID badges are Near Field Communication (NFC) tags. Easy to read and very secure.
  • Customized observations use the smartphone’s full capability.
    • Dropdown Lists
    • Pictures – Saved or immediate.
    • Numbers – Inventory, Serial Numbers, Temperature, etc.
    • Notes – Structured or Free Form (keypad or voice)
  • Each recording includes: Who, What, When, and Where

GuardChecker permits either the client or provider to monitor all the facilities where they have security guards.

  • GuardChecker is specifically designed to have unlimited organizational scalability. It is easy to integrate multiple local organizations into a region then further integrate regions into a national security network. By being web based it is even possible to create a worldwide reporting operation.
  • This unlimited scalability combined with GuardChecker’s powerful report writer gives a Security Director the ability to review and analyze all their security entities on a consistent basis. It is possible to sort, compare, and analyze based on any time frame or collected variable.

GuardChecker has an option to prepare a timesheet for each security guard.

  • Most security guards are hourly employees. Commonly there is no easy way to collect time and attendance hours at the client’s facility. As a result companies are forced to accept other, less formal procedures. By using GuardChecker’s unique security guard identifier (NFC ID badges) and our Sign In/Out protocol, GuardChecker can easily report when the guard(s) (by name and date and time) arrived and departed.
  • This time and attendance data can be formatted in any manner that is most suitable for accounting needs. As an option, GuardChecker’s report writer can produce a report in the same format as the security provider’s invoice to permit an easy comparison between on-site hours and billed hours.

GuardChecker securely stores collected history in the cloud. It is readily available at anytime.

  • Periodically, security guard issues arise requiring a review of historical information, either by location, a specific guard, a particular date and time, etc. Commonly that means trying to pull out the old logs, trying to download and print all the single day reports, or just trying to remember what happened. All these are time consuming and generally miss the mark.
  • With GuardChecker all that information is readily available regardless of when or where the issue occurred. It is relatively easy to sort through your entire security database and find an answer quickly and completely. It has date/time, location, the specific guard, and frequently many other pieces if structured messages were used.
  • GuardChecker reports may be accessed on any computer. With many provider based systems it is difficult view reports on any computer other than the one where the pre-packaged program was installed. With GuardChecker, using proper authorization, you can view all reports on any computer, anywhere there is an internet connection. There is no need to download, print, fax, etc, to see performance reports.

GuardChecker permits you to confirm all performance aspects of the entire security guard force.

Most existing security guard tour systems provide only standard sets of reports that tell you every check the guard made. What they don’t tell you is:

  • What checks were not made?
  • How long were the intervals between checks? Were they too short to be believable or too long to be acceptable?
  • When did the first check begin? When did the last one take place?

In addition GuardChecker’s mobile security guard patrol reporting tells you:

  • What vehicle was used?
  • When the patrol began and ended.
  • Travel time between sites.

As a security manager, it is probably more important to know what did not happen, rather than all the routine happenings. This knowledge helps to improve performance. This type of reporting is commonly called “exception” reporting and GuardChecker’s flexible report writer makes it easy for us to adapt an exception report that meets your performance needs.
