How to Maintain Offsite Vigilance

The majority of the times, security guards work alone. During nights and weekends there may be no one on-site to respond to critical issues. Critical situations vary from site to site but could range from maintenance issues to even health issues for the officer.

Our Guard Checker service includes a variety of Alerts that can be used to notify offsite managers that support is needed. Here are some real world examples.

Critical Actions Performed: 05/16/18 16:43 B – 911 – Emergency Ambulance. – A 911 Ambulance was called for new admitting patient Jessica F.

Actions Not Performed:
As of 05/04/18 02:45 there is no record of “J****** F******** Group: IN “having been scanned since 05/04/18 00:00.

As of 05/16/18 21:10 there is no record of T*** D*****: “I AM SAFE” having been scanned since 05/16/18 19:10.

Locations Not Checked: As of 05/09/2018 06:00:00 there is no record of the following Locations having been scanned for at least 1 day. Back Dock Roll Up Door, Exterior Bat Cave Conference Room, Box Room IDS Conference Room.

Alerts can be triggered by any action or observation that has been prioritized as “critical”. As soon as the officer records a critical event, that message will be immediately sent to designated managers.

The Guard Checker service also send Alerts if a scheduled action or observation does not take place. For example, if there is an officer no-show at the beginning of a shift, an alert will be immediately sent.

In one innovative use of the Alert feature, one of our clients wanted to confirm the health and well being of their officers during the isolated hours. They required each officer to send a structured message, “I am Safe”, every hour. If that message was not sent, then the offsite, on-duty manager would immediately respond to support the officer. Our Client reports that this procedure not only provides “peace of mind”, but has also improved the alertness of the guards themselves.

Another useful alert for offsite management is the Locations Not Checked alert. These alerts can be customized to a set number of hours such as a shift, or particular days such as the weekend.

These various Alert messages are used to assure both the security provider as well as their client that critical issues are immediately reported and appropriate action is performed. There is no need to wait until morning or after the weekend to find out about critical issues.
